The Quality Improvement Center for Workforce Analytics (QIC-WA) is pleased to be part of the 2024 National Staff Development and Training Association (NSDTA) Education Conference in Albuquerque, NM, on October 20 – 23. Our NSDTA presentation features an overview of the key components of our emerging Workforce Analytics Framework (WAF) that will be applied in a real-world setting through work with a select group of child welfare agencies.

QIC-WA Workforce Analytics Framework (WAF)

The QIC-WA is working closely with sites to understand their available data and elements of the WAF that provide opportunities for intervention. The WAF includes the following components:

  • Recruitment
  • Recruitment
  • Selection
  • Well-being
  • Turnover and tenure
  • Performance
  • Work design
  • Education and experience
  • Onboarding, training and development
  • Supervision and leadership
  • Work environment
  • Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging

Session participants will understand how the WAF can be used as part of a data-driven workforce development project. They will participate in an exercise where they are looking at fictitious data and asked to consider what types of conclusions can be drawn from the available information and identify what information is missing or could be helpful. They will also consider what information could be gathered by an agency, how it could be used, and who would need to be involved in understanding and using the data. This exercise will help participants learn how to (1) structure a workforce analytics team, and (2) consider how an organization can use human resources data to drive workforce decisions.
